4. BACK HOME

Early in the evening, lost in the dying light

I hear Mother call out to my brother “son you better get back in line”

Old oak trees and busted knees, my how it was so fine

I still remember the warm Decembers on Louisiana Friday nights

Oh, there’s nothing like I felt back home

Oh, Lord I just don’t know

Yea where the time goes

Later in the morning, lost in the warm embrace

Now and then I think back on it and I wish I had more to say

Dancing scenes and chasing dreams, yea when I think of when

I still surrender to that moment of splendor and I wish I had it back again

Oh, there’s nothing like I felt back home

Oh, Lord I just don’t know

Yea where the time goes

I’ve got indecision, but I’ve got a new guitar

I’m still in love with a dark haired girl who doesn’t know she has my heart

Oh, there’s nothing like I felt back home

Oh, Lord I just don’t know

Oh, Lord I just don’t know

Yea where the time goes
